The future of Hygiene! Self-Sanitizing Cleanliness

For Bulbul's Premium Copper Towel, copper fibres are permanently integrated, not surface-coated!

The Copper Towel

The towel that keeps itself clean.

Copper fibre, ionically bonded into the yarn. Bacteria don't settle, so odour never starts. The towel stays fresh between washes.

Why it's different

Bonded in, not coated on.

Most antibacterial towels are dipped in a treatment after dyeing. It sits on the surface, and the washing machine takes a little of it away every time.

Long-lasting antibacterial protection
The copper ions are bonded at a molecular level. The effect holds, wash after wash.
No post-processing chemicals
Nothing is applied after the fabric is made, so there is nothing to wash off.

Coating & post-process
A layer on the surface
These methods apply a superficial layer of copper or copper compounds onto the fabric.
Erodes with washing
Washing and use wear the coating away, and the antibacterial and anti-odour effect declines with it.

Copper ions

Copper ions break down microbial membranes, degrade RNA, and disrupt vital functions.

Effectively destroying bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

Real copper
The fibre is conductive. Touch the towel to a charged LED and it lights up. That's copper, not a claim.

What matters most in an antibacterial towel?

How long the function really lasts.
Loading a towel into the washing machine

Most towels use surface coatings. They wash off over time. Ours is ionically bonded into the yarn, so it doesn't.

Tested, not claimed

Washed a hundred times. Then tested.

We sent the fabric to an independent laboratory, had it washed 100 cycles first, and asked for the numbers. What matters isn't how a towel performs new. It's how long the function lasts.

A good cotton towel is a good towel. It just can't keep itself clean.
Folded towels on a bench with a diffuser
Is your towel clean?

A towel that smells after washing isn't dirty. It's colonised.

Bacteria trapped in the fibres cause the musty smell and, for some, the skin trouble. In a humid flat, they multiply faster than your laundry cycle.

Three signs it's time to replace yours
01
It absorbs less
Worn-out fibres stop doing the one job a towel has.
02
It smells, even clean
Trapped bacteria and mildew linger through the wash.
03
It's gone rough
Fibre breakdown scratches instead of drying.
OEKO-TEX
Standard 100
Class 1
Certified safe for infants under three.

The fabric holds OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class 1. It is the strictest class there is. If it's gentle enough for a baby's skin, it's gentle enough for yours.

The routine

Hang it up. That's it.

Between uses, the copper keeps working on its own. The towel stays fresh longer, so you wash it less. That is easier on the fabric, the water bill, and the towel's ten-year life.

Fewer washes also means fewer fibres shed into the water. Small thing. It adds up.

Wash less, save the sea.

A typical 6 kg wash load releases over 700,000 microplastic fibres.

Packaging

Paper, all the way down.

Each towel arrives in a paper bag. No plastic sleeve, no plastic window, nothing to peel off and feel bad about.

Frequently asked questions

  • What makes Bulbul’s copper towel antibacterial?

Copper ions embedded in the yarn inhibit bacterial growth and help control odour between washes.

  • How is a copper-infused towel different from a regular towel?

It stays fresher for longer and resists odour because the fibres limit bacterial growth.

  • Will the antibacterial effect wash off over time?

No. The copper is integrated at fibre level, so effectiveness is designed to last for the life of the towel under normal home laundering.

  • Is a copper towel safe for sensitive skin?

Yes. Copper textiles are widely used, and our towels are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 compliant. Which makes it safe for use on infants below 3 years old.

  • How absorbent is it compared to cotton?

It offers high absorbency with quicker dry-down than many conventional cotton towels.

  • How should I wash and dry a copper towel?

Wash with similar colours at 30–60 °C, avoid bleach, fabric softeners are okay but not advisable, tumble dry on low heat or line dry/sun dry fully. Do not boil.

  • Do copper towels shed lint at first?

A little lint in the first 1–3 washes is normal. Low-heat tumble drying helps reduce lint and fluffs the pile.

  • How long does a copper towel last?

Years with normal care. The embedded copper and durable fibres help maintain performance over time.

  • How often should i wash the towels?

Most people find a good rhythm is to wash their towels every three to four uses. With the copper towels, you can comfortably stretch that a little if they still feel fresh, since the copper yarn helps slow odour build-up. That said, if the towel feels damp for long periods or picks up any noticeable odour, it is best to give it a wash sooner. As environments and conditions can differ, it is hard to advise the number of days it should be washed.
